Early this month in the UK, Madeline Love had the opportunity to see her 3-year-old daughter, who has Cerebral Palsy, express herself through art thanks to innovative eye tracking technology called Eyegaze.
Berry Love-Jones endured major breathing problems following her birth at Merthyr’s Prince Charles Hospital in February 2011 and was eventually diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. She has limited muscle tone, is unable to sit up unaided, and is non-verbal.

At age three, Taylor Sanders was diagnosed with monoplegic infantile Cerebral Palsy. Doctors told her parents she would never be able to walk. However, not only did Taylor prove her doctors wrong, but she is also swimming competitively today in Zephyrhills High School’s swim team.
Despite her Cerebral Palsy diagnosis, Taylor was determined to teach herself how to walk. “From the second she was born, she was an inspiration,” said Taylor’s mom, Vanessa Sanders. “She had a strong will to push harder. She taught herself how to walk the wrong way because she was always so driven.”

The “legendary” Rick Hohn retires. Hohn, 67 with severe Cerebral Palsy, retired as senior consumer representative after 18 years with DynaVox, a large augmentative and alternative communication manufacturer. It was a chance meeting in the mid-1990′s that brought Rick Hohn and Tilden Bennett, the co-founder and past president of DynaVox together. Hohn, then in his 40s, was an accomplished artist with little use of his arms who used a head stylus to paint, manual alphabet board to communicate, and a wheelchair for mobility.
